Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989)

My reactions to this movie would probably have been vastly different if I'd seen it 10 or more years ago. But, I watched it for the first time in 2020, after years of experience teaching at the college level.

Mr. Ryan (History Teacher): Bill and Ted, you are failing history. If you don't get an A+ on your final presentation tomorrow, you will fail.

Me: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Every student who is failing a course believes that if they just get an A+ on the final, they will be okay. The fact that they haven't been able to pass the assignments up to that point doesn't seem to make them doubt their ability to get an A+ this time

And then, to pass the assignment, Bill and Ted literally kidnap people from different points in history and have them present, not even doing the work themselves.

These points aside, I actually did enjoy the movie. But apparently, it hit a few nerves.
